Meet The MABC Team

Mike Unger
Senior Pastor

Pastor Mike and his teacher wife Heather moved to the USA from Canada and have called Madera home for many years. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Theology from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary in 2006. Mike has faithfully served in several ministry capacities, including Chaplain, Youth Pastor, Executive Director of Madera Rescue Mission, and currently as the Senior Pastor of MABC.

Mike has had the pleasure of being married to Heather for over 36 years. He has been blessed with two children (Ryan and Kinya), their spouses, and two grandchildren. Pastor Mike enjoys playing the guitar (and leading worship occasionally), riding mountain bikes, and talking aviation. His door is always open to visitors.

At MABC over the past five years, the body has made Colossians 1:28, “It’s Him we proclaim” our mission. Pastor Mike invites you to join MABC to discover that God’s body is alive and well and getting better all the time.

Youth Pastor

Rebecah Kirk
Children’s Ministries

Rebecah has been married to her husband, Seth, a farmer in Madera, for nearly 20 years. Together they are blessed with four children: Riley (17), George (15), Zoe (13), and Isabel (11). She and Seth were baptized by Pastor Bergdahl 14 years ago, just before Zoe was born, and have continued to grow in their faith and commitment to Christ ever since.

Rebecah values Christian education and has spent much of her life investing in students and families. She taught 5th grade at Crossroads Christian School for four years before becoming the school librarian, a position she has joyfully held for the past two years. She also serves as the Christian Education leader at Madera Avenue Bible Church, now in her second year, where she is passionate about sharing Christ’s love with the youngest members of the congregation all the way to the oldest.

She loves the Lord with all her heart and seeks to live by her life verse, Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Her prayer is to encourage others to serve faithfully and with love, building up the church family and community for God’s glory.
